Can't go wrong with kung-fu

No, honestly, there are some recipes you can't go wrong with and yet you only see too rarely in movies.
Today is the release of the second OSS117 movie. And what do you see, in that movie?
Nazi Luchadores. Yeah, with the silly mask, the arm band and all.
I mean, why don't we see nazi luchadores more often?

As I was wasting precious time typing funny keyword combos and following related links on youtube, I came upon this:

Hoho! A kung fu biker of doom. Make people of any kind practise kung fu, and they immediately become more interesting. Priests, nazis, commies, cowboys, naked chicks, vampires, apes, ballerinas, plumbers...

Think of the endless combinations: naked kung fu vampire sisters, kung-fu ape ballerinas...

Another WB update

Grah - it's starting to get on my nerves. But on the bright side, they're nearly finished now. 4 of the 5 figs just need the final touch ups, while the one far right mainly needs his head finished and a shiny SMG, a double-bladed axe and a shield (all from Hasslefree, as the other weapons pictured).

More B-movie goodness...

That blond bodybuilder is so... attractive.

And I found Virtual Kickboxing's trailer (original title is Expect No Mercy, actually). Believe it or not, it was silly.

En voilà un qui se termine...

Happy Birthday!

Today's my (and SebVoinot's) birthday, and it happens I received some goodies from Heresy.

Andy's a cool guy, and there is always more parts in the bags than you expected. I knew the guys with guns at the top came with a gun sprue, but didn't know the trenchcoat leader ("Bane") came with several hand options as well. I've got plans for all those figs in Golgoville, including the Ogre which will be slightly converted to become one of the "bosses" at this summer's Golgo Banana Showdown (tba).

C'est quoi, le truc à droite?
What's that thing on the right?

It took me a while to realise it wasn't some kind of obscene jelly sweet, but a NOSE.
Or so it seems.
I don't know if it was selected for me specifically, or if Andy has a full stock of those "noses" to make his customers chuckle when they open their packet.

Anyway, I decided it was the first bit I'd take care of.

Cool terrain - Pimp my ride

One thing to make your GoG games even better is to put some cool dusty cars all over. These cars can be pieces of terrain, game objectives or your characters rides.

Here is how I transform a toy car (1/43) in the coolest sport car ever.

First of all I take a car bought cheap in a garage sale or in a discount store.

Then I put the basecoat. I try not to take too much time and don’t really car to do a messy job. I choose a color similar to the original tone of the car.

Now, it’s time for the most important, the lavish. As often I use wood stain (is that the correct word in english?) mixed with acrylic ink (black this time). The magical liquid is spread all over, you can be messy.

Let it dry.

On laisse sécher.

Then I do a quick highlight job (just one, using a lighter tone than the base coat).

Just before varnishing the car, I use some acrylic pigments to put some dirt on the bottom parties of the body. In Golgoville the streets are not cleaned that often and a real man, in these tought time, doesn’t care about a shinny car.

And I’m done, kid Robert has a new ride to show off in town. Yeeehaaaa.

A couple of wonderful trailers for your viewing pleasure - they definitely have the kind of atmosphere we want for Gangs of Golgoville.
1st is TC2000. Plot is amazing: The fate of humanity is threatened by a group of thugs who want to infiltrate an underground car park - a superimportant one with scientists and stuff, that is.
There is an elite corps of underground car park defenders to prevent the fall of this last bastion of civilization of course, but there are some rotten bastards among them who have a deal with the thugs. The hero's team mate dies and is resurrected as a saucy cyborg specialised in backflips ; thanks to the help of a wise Chinese brute he met while kicking the shit out of a fat bloke in pants fighting with a tyre, he brings her back to humanity and saves the world from pollution.

Shadowchaser, maintenant.
Then there is project Shadowchaser - there are actually 4 films that seem to only have the white-haired cyborg played by Frank Zagarino in common. The 1st one I haven't seen - apparently, there is no DVD edition which is a shame as the plot is appealing.
The second one (night siege) is excellent (see trailer below) - Zagarino makes crazy faces in that one and it has that vulgar display of violence flavour you could find in the bloodiest Golan Globus productions. Lots of gratuitous machine-gunning, scientists dying by the dozen, and you even have a nunchuk fight pulled out of the blue which I have found to be the surest sign of quality.
The 3rd film is complete arse, and the 4th one has its merits (more Zagarino presence -and actually several hims- and a scene where he crawls out of the ground from his buried spaceship) but isn't quite good either, which means you'll need more beer to sit through the entire movie.
This week end, I'll be watching "Virtual Kickboxing" - sounds promising.
